For decades, the Sootri rugs are made in cities of Peshawar & Lahore, Pakistan. Both these cities are know for their rich history in rug weaving industry. A single sootri rug can take up to 10 months to be manufactured and has a knot count of ~300 per square inch. Colours used to make the Sootri rug can take months to mix as they are prepared from thorns, dried flowers, root branches and herbs that are chemical free.
